Rules are annoying, but they exist for a reason. Please abide by the following, and if you have any questions, feel free to post them in the Inquiries board. Most of the rules are common sense, but we have outlined them for you anyway. Sorry for the length.
Once you have read the rules, please sign them by replying below.
Members who have not yet read the rules when they create a character will have their application remain pending until the rules are signed. Thank you and happy roleplaying![/i]
That wasn't so bad now, was it?

Please read all of the following rules before you begin roleplaying.
Members who have not yet read the rules when they create a character will have their application remain pending until the rules are signed. Thank you and happy roleplaying![/i]
- You MUST be over 18 years of age to roleplay here. This is an adult RP consisting of themes and plots not suitable for all ages.
- No harassing anyone. Bullying is NOT tolerated out of character, and if you are caught, you WILL be removed and blocked from the site. Non-negotiable.
- In addition, there shall be absolutely NO fighting whilst out of character! If you find yourself in an argument, stop yourself and work it out in a personal message or just forget it altogether! If you really have a problem, then feel free to PM an admin about it. They will help you work it out. We don’t want any negativity here, as this is a place for fun!
Meanwhile, fighting whilst IN character (roleplaying your character) is fine. In fact, it is encouraged for dramatic reasons - We ask you to try to keep all content pg-13 or less, but let's be realistic. This is a college roleplay. Young adults don't keep things pg-13, so why should we here? All we ask is that you leave the super explicit stuff out (aka anything that could be described as erotic). This is not our rule, but one of proboards, the site host. Content like that could get the boards deleted if proboards were to ever see, and that won't be fun for anyone, because we would lose everything.
IF things between characters become a little explicit (meaning sexual content), simply skip ahead to the 'morning after' or 'moment after' and move on from there. If you feel you absolutely must roleplay anything sexually explicit for plot-enhancing reasons, please do so in PM and not in the thread. - IF you create a thread that eventually contains mature content, please post a warning in the subject or in the first post of the thread stating so. Suggestions for warning would be "Thread Title (warning: mature content). Also please post trigger warns for character deaths/self-harm/anything that would be emotionally triggering. Also, roleplayers, please keep in mind that you are most-likely to come across mature content in some way/shape/form in all threads (this is a college site, after all), so if implications of sexual encounters/suicide/cussing/sinning in general bother you/go against your beliefs, you might want to re-consider signing up.
- This is a literate forum. This simply means that all in-character posts must use proper English grammar. There is a minimum 200 word limit. This will be strictly monitored, so please do your best to abide by this rule. Also be sure to use english grammar and spelling to the best of your ability. Try to read over your reply before you post it to ensure you have not skipped out any words or missed any typos, etc.
- You must have a banner of your character(s) while roleplaying. If you cannot make one yourself, simply ask an admin for some help. There are several picture-editing sites that can aid you that the admins know of. Our suggestion: ipiccy.com
- Please do not stretch the boards with your banners. They do not have to be a certain size, but if they stretch the board, they will be asked to be removed. This is a roleplay, anyway, and while banners are a must on this site, they are not the main focus. Banners are so we can have an idea of what your character looks like while we roleplay with you.
If anything, try to keep the height of your banners less than 400 px and the width less than 500 px. - When typing out of character in roleplay please use: OOC// type message here, ((ooc//type message here)) ((type message here)) or something similar.
- That being said, try to limit the amount of time you are out of character whilst roleplaying.
- For the chat, please only speak in English. The language of this roleplay site is English, as everyone here speaks it. Anything you type on the cbox should be for EVERYONE to read. If you have something private to say to someone, please PM them. Otherwise it just seems rude to exclude others who cannot understand certain languages. If your character needs to speak a foreign language in character, that is fine. It would be helpful to include a translation ooc so we don't have to google it, however.
- We completely understand that life sometimes gets in the way of roleplaying (school comes first -- we don't want you failing because you're RPing up a storm), but if you do find you need to take a little break from roleplaying, we ask that you notify us in some way. Preferably, and possibly the easiest way, it to create a thread in the General board stating that you'll be going on a hiatus for a while. This way we'll know why you suddenly disappeared and won't worry for your life. Also we can offer words of encouragement And it's also fair of you to notify us, especially those you are roleplaying with, so they won't be left hanging.
- Members who disappear for 2+ weeks without notice will have their accounts removed from the forum. The admin will notify everyone when a member sweep is happening. This is to ensure that we are not cluttering the boards with members that no longer exist here. However, if you are on a hiatus and let us know, your account will be safe, which is why the above rule is important.
- In regards to having one character in multiple threads: this is allowed only under the following circumstance:
Each thread would be happening at a different day/time to prevent the impossible, which is being in two places at once.
BUT BE CAREFUL: some things that happen in certain threads could greatly affect the future of your character, and thus affect the thread that happens a little later. For example, if your character severely injures themself and breaks something, they would have a broken bone in the next thread. This is not Hogwarts, so bones cannot be mended instantly, unfortunately. - Please keep things as realistic as possible. This should be self-explanatory. Characters underaged cannot just walk into a bar and buy a drink (however fake ID's do exist).
Also, should this come up, be aware that characters who kill or cause mass amounts of destruction are VERY likely to get into loads of trouble with the authorities. - Absolutely. No. God-modelling. If you are unaware of what that means, please google it. No perfect characters. No. No. No. No. Moving on.
- No power-playing. This means no making another character do what you want it to do if that character is not your own. This includes, but is not limited to: characters' actions/reactions, characters dying/injuries, characters' replies.
- There is no character limit per person, but try not to overload yourself with too many characters. If you are neglecting some characters but keep creating more, the new ones will not be accepted.
- Your character profiles must be approved by an admin before you can start roleplaying. Once approved, they will be moved to the appropriate section by an admin and you will be allowed to RP that character.
- When creating your character, be sure to check the Face Claims. Only one celebrity face per character (with the except of twins). There will be no repeats, which is why the Face Claim board was created in the first place. In regards to unused characters, you will have to PM the admins if you would like to use one of those play-bys. Dead characters' play-bys are completely off-limits, however. If you are having trouble finding a play-by, other members would be glad to help.
- CLAIM YOUR CHARACTER’S PLAY-BY. Unclaimed celebrities are fair game while applications are still pending. This helps everyone when creating new characters so they do not have to sift through all of the character profiles to see if the celebrity they want is taken or not. If you do not claim the face, you will lose out.
- In addition to the previous rule, characters must have a play-by that is a known celebrity. This includes but is not limited to actors (tv, reality, movie, etc), musicians, models, etc. This means no anime/cartoon characters, drawings, or people you know in real life. Hard-to-find celebrities are iffy (this happens a lot with models), so try your best to find someone you can easily prove actually exists.
- In regards to putting a play-by on hold, this is recommended if you are working on a character profile and do not want to lose out on a particular play-by. Please keep note that you can only reserve a celebrity face for 4 days maximum. After that, the face is fair game.
- When making your character, try to keep in mind how many characters we have of each gender. We don't want to have 15 female characters and 8 males. Check the character caps to make sure.
- Since this is an original roleplay, original characters only. This means no Katniss Everdeans or Ron Weasleys or Tobias Eatons or Bella Swans (please, no Bella Swans. Characters with depth = fantastic). Create your own characters out of your own imagination. Be creative. Be original.
- And lastly, since this is a college roleplay, characters must be of college age. 17+ only, please.
That wasn't so bad now, was it?
